About
Every Sunday morning, from 8 am to 1.30 pm, the Basse-Indre market sets up beside the Loire, on Place Jean-Bordais, 8 km from the centre of Nantes. It is one of the best-known markets in the Nantes area: nearly 5,000 people come to shop here, from more than 100 traders (greengrocers, meat and fish, world food, crafts). Its surroundings add to its appeal: a picnic by the water, a walk along the Loire, a stroll through the lanes of Indre, a former fishing village, or a break on café terraces. After the market, you can visit Trentemoult in Rezé, about 18 minutes by car (12 km), and the Musée Dobrée in Nantes, about 19 minutes by car (10 km).
