About
The chaland is the traditional flat-bottomed boat of the Brière, pushed along with a pole. At the port of Bréca, in Saint-Lyphard, several boatmen offer guided trips into the heart of the marshes. L’Arche Briéronne takes you into the marshes for 45 minutes, with tours in English all year and in German for groups, and also offers a horse-drawn carriage ride through the villages of thatched cottages, with a combined boat and carriage ticket. La Faune Briéronne, which holds the Marque Parc label of the Brière regional nature park, also offers chaland trips.
