About
The La Cale Sauvage campsite is in Frossay, along the Martinière canal, near the Loire estuary. It is right on the Vélodyssée and close to the Loire à Vélo, an ideal stopover for cyclists. A young couple recently took it over. You can rent mobile homes, with or without bathrooms for small budgets, a retro 1970s caravan, a nomad tent and ready-pitched tents. Two toilet blocks, including a recent one adapted for people with reduced mobility, complete the facilities. The guinguette, a bar and restaurant, serves homemade food with fresh produce from local producers and is open to visitors as well as campers; concerts and music nights are held depending on the season. A shared marquee has a fridge, a microwave, a kettle and books. Opposite, the Quai Vert water sports centre hires out bikes, paddleboards, canoes and pedal boats. You can explore the marshes and the canal paths after your meal, and the play area is just opposite.
