About
The Château de Kériolet took its present form in the 19th century. The Russian princess Zénaïde Narischkine-Youssoupoff and her husband Charles de Chauveau turned an older house into a spectacular neo-Gothic château. The decoration piles up medieval references, symbols of Brittany, sculptures, coats of arms and personal touches. This accumulation is exactly what makes Kériolet interesting: it is not a medieval castle, but a 19th-century Romantic reinvention of the Middle Ages. The interiors can only be seen on a guided tour, which explains the people linked to the estate, the choice of decoration and the château’s eventful history. In 2026, the season for individual visitors ran from 8 June to 30 September, every day except Saturday. Outside this period, ordinary individual visits are not possible.
