About
The Hôtel de la Plage stands at 21 boulevard de la Mer in Erquy, right opposite the beach and the harbour. Founded in the late 19th century, the house underwent nearly three years of complete renovation to recover its architectural character while offering contemporary comfort. It has about 25 rooms and suites, plus a few apartments. All rooms face the sea. The decor is inspired by the Côte d’Émeraude: pink sandstone, blues, greens, broom and heather, with light parquet floors and soft-toned fabrics. Categories include Pleine Mer rooms of about 25 m², Pleine Mer Panoramic Terrace rooms of about 25 m², Pleine Mer Lounge rooms of about 30 m², and a Family Suite with a courtyard view of about 35 m² for four people. Each room has individual air conditioning. The hotel also features LED TVs with Chromecast, bedding made in Brittany and local or Breton products in the rooms. The hotel is now fully accessible to people with reduced mobility, with two fully adapted rooms. The Coquille restaurant is open to residents and outside guests. Its short menu focuses on local produce, with plenty of fish, shellfish, lobster, crab and scallops, notably from the Erquy fish market and fishermen. Chef Jonathan Massing, who has worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants, runs the kitchen. In October 2026, Coquille served dinner from Tuesday to Saturday and lunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Breakfast is prepared by the same team and served from 7.30 am. The buffet features eggs cooked to order, organic cereals, homemade jams and pastries, local dairy products, organic fruit, and Breton cold meats and cheeses. It costs €23 per person. The Bar de la Plage welcomes residents and outside visitors throughout the day. The hotel also offers gift packages combining a night, breakfast and a meal at the restaurant. The location makes a car-free stay possible. The beach, the town centre, shops, the market, the harbour, walking routes and sections of the GR34 are all within walking distance. Erquy is perfect for a seaside stay: France’s scallop capital, an active fishing port, sandy beaches, Cap d’Erquy, pink sandstone cliffs and links to other sites on the Côte d’Émeraude. Families have a dedicated suite and apartments, while couples will prefer the Pleine Mer or panoramic terrace categories. There is parking on site, and pets are accepted for a supplement; check the exact conditions before your stay. The recent renovation has transformed the hotel into a contemporary, accessible, air-conditioned seaside house with a strong focus on local food. Its main asset remains the view. Every room faces the horizon, giving the stay a rare harmony, enhanced by the restaurant, the beach at the foot of the hotel and the chance to enjoy Erquy almost entirely on foot.
