About
DEK Hôtel is in Landunvez, facing the port of Argenton and the very wild landscapes of north-west Finistère. It combines a boutique hotel, a café and a refuge for travellers on foot, by bike or with a surfboard. The hotel has only five rooms. This very small size gives it the feel of a contemporary house rather than a traditional hotel. Depending on the category, the rooms open onto the garden or the sea. The ground-floor Family room is about 33 m², sleeps four and is designed to be accessible to people with reduced mobility. The Sea View Panoramic Apartment, higher up, is about 24 m² and offers a view of up to 180 degrees over the port, the coast and the open sea. It has a small kitchen area, but no hob. DEK makes several environmental choices. The rooms deliberately have no TV. Refurbished tablets can be lent on request against a deposit. French-made bedding, low-waste toiletries and local water are also part of the approach. The wellness experience is an Ofuro, a Japanese cedar-wood bath heated to about 39 °C. A session lasts about an hour and must be booked in advance. The bath looks towards the Le Four lighthouse and comes with green tea. The DEK café is open to guests and outside visitors alike, serving drinks, snacks, toasted sandwiches and sharing boards depending on the time of day. Gwen Trez beach is a few hundred metres away, and the GR34 runs through this spectacular stretch of the Abers coast. DEK is therefore ideal for slow travel, surfing, cycling and hiking.
