About

The Château d’Apigné is in Le Rheu, west of Rennes, in the heart of 25-hectare grounds. Despite its very calm, rural setting, it is about ten minutes from Rennes-Saint-Jacques airport and the Parc Expo, and about fifteen minutes from the centre of Rennes and the TGV station. Rated 5 stars, it has 16 rooms. Eight are in the main château, in the Superior and Luxury categories, and eight more are in the Pavillon Elisabeth, a renovated former outbuilding in a country style, in the Tradition category. The Tradition rooms are about 28 m². They sleep two plus an extra bed, with a double or twin beds, and have parking and access adapted for people with reduced mobility. In the château, the Superior and Luxury rooms are 32 to 44 m²: about 32 m² for the Superior and about 44 m² for the Luxury. The bathrooms set in the turrets are one of the most distinctive features of a stay. Rooms offer homemade macarons, a bottle of water, a safe, a flat-screen TV with international channels and Canal+, a telephone, free Wi-Fi, a baby cot on request, a hairdryer and a walk-in shower or bath depending on the room. Views look out over the grounds, the gardens or the lake. Accessibility is well integrated for a historic château: the official website mentions a lift, an adapted room and an access ramp in the main building. The car park is also accessible. Hotel service runs 24/7. The hotel offers room service, breakfast in your room and shuttles to Rennes station or Rennes-Saint-Jacques airport. Personal touches can be ordered, such as champagne, chocolates or flowers. The gourmet restaurant Les Tourelles is run by chef Nicolas Briand. Its modern gastronomy is rooted in regional produce and local heritage. Current offers show menus of three to six courses depending on the formula. The château has no conventional shared spa, but offers treatments and massages in your room through Viva Ter’happy, which adds to the intimacy of the stay. Electric vehicles can be charged free of charge at universal Porsche charging points. The estate also lends traditional and electric bikes to reach the Apigné lakes or Rennes along the cycle paths and towpath. The events offer is particularly developed. The château has nearly 500 m² of modular rooms, hosts events for 5 to 500 people and has a private car park with more than 200 spaces. The grounds also lend themselves to team-building activities. For weddings, the main hall can seat up to about 200 guests with a dance floor. The estate also hosts concerts, ceremonies, product launches and outdoor receptions. The hotel even has its own vineyard, used for discovery and tasting activities at some events. The grounds also have beehives, whose honey is sold in the shop alongside jams, caramels and chocolates made by the team. The pet policy is not clearly published on the official pages, so contact reception before any stay with an animal. The Château d’Apigné suits couples, weddings, upmarket getaways and business events above all. It offers a rare combination of countryside seclusion and very quick access to Rennes.
