About
Away from the Petite Cité de Caractère, this trail reveals another side of Le Croisic’s nature, between land and sea. It crosses the former warrens, land cleared late, at the end of the 18th century, and attached to the royal estate, between heathland, rocky shores and woods. The route continues into the Penn Avel park, owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral, where you can visit the Le Croisic heritage house and the restored Providence windmill, before reaching the ocean. The loop is 6.3 km long; allow about 2 hours of walking. The stated level is easy. Start: the point marked on the map, in Le Croisic. The waymarking is yellow; the route also follows sections of the customs officers’ path, the GR 34. The official route, published by the Loire-Atlantique département, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
