About
Facing the boats of Audierne, Brazilian chef Camila Seixas creates fresh, maritime cooking with a subtle traveller’s touch at Orizhon. With Aurélien Digne front of house, she runs a friendly place where Breton fish, seasonal produce and exotic touches meet in front of the harbour. Orizhon sits facing the harbour, in a Breton house where the boats and the life of the quay set the pace of the day. The contemporary dining room, colourful and welcoming, stays well away from intimidating gastronomic décor. In fine weather, a small terrace lets you enjoy the sea air, within the limits of space and weather: ask whether it is available rather than assuming it. Originally from Brazil, Camila Seixas has worked in demanding kitchens in Rio, Lisbon and France. Her background feeds generous, bright cooking that is sometimes open to less expected pairings. Yet Orizhon is not a traditional Brazilian restaurant: the produce is largely Breton, and the exotic touches add contrast and enrich the flavours of the coast. Co-founder with Camila Seixas, Aurélien Digne knows the kitchen trade before choosing direct contact with guests. This helps him explain the dishes and advise on how to build a meal. In a small house, booking and mentioning any special requests keep the service smooth. Past menus have featured confit sea bass with grilled beetroot and pomegranate, or scallops with pearl barley, mango and curry.
