About

On one of the most beautiful streets of old Rennes, Maxime and Estelle Besnier serve inventive and warm bistronomy, devoted to produce and pleasure. The name Estime combines the first names of Estelle and Maxime Besnier, brother and sister. Behind this simple idea lies a real joint project: one runs the dining room, the other the kitchen. The restaurant is on rue du Chapitre, a cobbled street lined with fine old houses; the walk there from the cathedral or the Portes Mordelaises is already part of the pleasure. The decor plays on deep peacock blue, light beams, stone and wood, for an elegant setting without too much formality. Maxime develops French recipes while keeping taste at the centre: sauces, cooking and condiments make each plate clear and enjoyable, with occasional Asian touches. The short menu of starters, mains and desserts is renewed regularly. At lunch, set menus offer a complete meal at a moderate price.
