About
La Gacilly, on the banks of the Aff, holds the Cité d’Art label: around thirty craftspeople have opened workshops in its lanes and work there all year round. Strolling through the streets, many of them pedestrian, you can watch them at work. A bamboo grove leads to the Yves Rocher botanical garden, a plant observatory with more than 1,500 species, free to visit. Since 2003, the Festival Photo has turned the town into an open-air art gallery every summer. On the Aff, electric boats, pedal boats and canoes offer a different view. The Roche Piquée menhirs recall a human presence as early as the Neolithic.
