About
In Assérac, L’Étoile de Mer stands out first for its closeness to the coast: La Marche aux Bœufs natural beach is 500 metres away, and Pen-Bé bay about 2 km. This 2-star Clicochic campsite focuses on mobile homes, with models for groups of up to ten people. The water area includes a heated indoor pool and a Patau-Splatch, a play pool with small slides, water jets and a tipping bucket, designed mainly for children aged two to six. In 2026, the campsite was open from 7 May to 1 September, and no unserviced pitches were offered. The campsite enjoys a less built-up area than the big seafronts. The coast calls for respecting the tides and fragile habitats, not just enjoying a swim. Despite its 2-star rating, it has a real water offer, with more targeted services than a large five-star club campsite. In 2026, the indoor pool and the heated outdoor paddling pool were open from 7 May to 30 August. A wristband is compulsory and long swim shorts are not allowed. Animals are accepted under conditions. Shops are not right at the campsite gate, so plan your shopping for a group stay. Pen-Bé bay, Pont-Mahé, the Mès salt marshes and the Pénestin beaches make excellent outings, and the coast looks very different at low tide.
