About
At the Pointe de Merquel, the landscape mixes several worlds: the ocean, the dunes, the Mès marshes and the mudflats. An observation point on an old blockhouse gives a particularly interesting view for reading the landscape and watching birds. The GR34 runs around the headland. The site is very pleasant at dawn or dusk, when the colours and bird activity are at their best.

Tips on the spot

- Come in the morning or late in the day for softer light and fewer people.
- Bring a windproof and waterproof layer: the wind makes it feel much colder.
- Wear shoes with good grip; after heavy rain, paths can be muddy or slippery.
- Never cross a fence or safety marking for a better photo, and stay back from the cliff edge in strong wind.
