About
The Château de la Roche-Jagu is one of the last great witnesses of a defensive system that once controlled the Trieux valley. The present building dates mainly from the 15th century and combines a residential character with defensive features. The facade facing the Trieux contrasts with the more closed elevations on the exposed side. The ground-floor rooms evoke life in a late medieval lordship, while the upper floors host temporary exhibitions. The 64-hectare park is inseparable from the château: gardens, banks, woods, meadows, viewpoints and paths run down towards the Trieux. It is free and can fill several hours of walking on its own. In 2026, the château and exhibitions follow an opening season, while the park stays free. Exhibition tickets are €6.50 full price and €4.50 reduced.
