About
The Château d’Oudon stands on a spur overlooking the Loire and the Hâvre. The medieval fortress was extensively transformed in the late 14th and early 15th centuries, when the Malestroit family built the great residential tower that is now the heart of the visit. The tower combines defence and residence. Its stacked levels, fireplaces, openings and military features show what life was like for a lord of the Marches of Brittany. The climb leads to a panoramic terrace overlooking the Loire and the village. The current visit combines a self-guided route, digital displays and short guided tours. The site is especially engaging for families thanks to its compact size: you really move up the monument floor by floor. In 2026, the château is open from 28 March to 1 November.
