About
Since the late 19th century, the Grand Hôtel des Bains has enjoyed a privileged position on the Locquirec peninsula. The building and its grounds sit right by the sea, away from the noise and just a few steps from the harbour and the village centre. Rated 4 stars, the hotel has 36 rooms in a New England-inspired style, with wood panelling, parquet floors, soft colours and deliberately timeless decoration. Twenty-seven of the thirty-six rooms look out over the sea and the grounds. The other nine, mainly Standard Rooms, are at the back, and some overlook the church of Saint-Jacques. The room categories on offer include Standard, Classic, Superior and Family. The rates shown online start at around €179 for the Standard, €239 for the Classic, €279 for the Superior and €428 for the Family room, with large variations depending on dates. The Marine Spa is one of the hotel’s great assets. It has a large indoor saltwater pool heated to 29 °C all year round, a sauna, a hammam, a gym and six treatment rooms, according to information published by the hotel. Treatments are given in partnership with Thalion, a Breton brand specialising in marine cosmetics and active ingredients from the seaweeds and sea plants of the Iroise Sea. Access to the pool, sauna, hammam and gym is included in the price of every room. This means you can really enjoy the spa even on a short stay without an extra treatment package. The main restaurant is open every day for dinner from 7 pm to 9 pm and works with local produce, the day’s catch and Breton livestock. The Brasserie de la Plage is mainly open for lunch. The private car park is free. An electric charging point is available. Pets are welcome for a supplement, currently €25 per day per animal. In 2026, the hotel closes from 15 November to 10 December. Locquirec and the GR34 can be explored straight from the door on foot. The hotel is also a good base for exploring Plestin-les-Grèves, the Bay of Morlaix and the Pink Granite Coast.
