About

The Hostellerie de la Pointe Saint-Mathieu stands at the far western tip of Finistère, directly facing the lighthouse and the remains of the abbey. The Iroise Sea, the cliffs and the GR34 form the hotel’s immediate surroundings. The family story goes back to 1954, when Francine and Émile Corre bought a house parts of which date from the 14th century. Several generations have followed since, and Nolwenn and Tanguy Corre took over in 2018. Rated 4 stars, the hotel has 34 contemporary rooms. Two rooms are specially adapted for people with reduced mobility. The categories are clearly described. The Élégante Sea Side offers about 21 m² and the Élégante Lighthouse Side 24 m². The Superior Lighthouse Side is 33 m² and the Superior Sea Side 35 m². The Luxe Ocean Room offers about 40 m², while the Suite is 47 m². The Suite has a separate bedroom, a 180 x 200 cm bed, a spacious lounge, a dressing room and views of the sea and the lighthouse. All rooms have a flat-screen TV with Canal+ and beIN Sports, free Wi-Fi, a minibar, a hairdryer and a hospitality tray. A baby cot and an extra bed are possible in some categories. The Nuxe Spa covers about 450 m². It includes a flotation pool, an indoor hot tub, an outdoor hot tub facing the ocean, a sauna, a hammam, a sensory shower and several Nuxe treatment rooms. Hotel guests currently get one hour of spa access per night. For outside visitors, access is included with a treatment of at least 45 minutes, and a supplement applies with some shorter treatments. Gastronomy is central to the address. Nolwenn Corre’s restaurant has held one Michelin star since 2019. The chef reinterprets Breton produce and recipes in a setting combining old vaults and contemporary decor. The Bistrot 1954 is the more relaxed alternative, with burgers, salads, seafood and traditional recipes facing the lighthouse and the sea, seven days a week for lunch and dinner according to the current website. The car park is private and covered. An electric charging point is available. The hotel also has a lift, room service, a shuttle on request and access for people with reduced mobility. The hotel is open all year round. Its location lets you set off straight for the lighthouse, the abbey and the GR34, then reach Le Conquet, Molène or Ouessant as part of a longer stay.
