The traditional La Bernerie-en-Retz market is held in the covered market hall and on Chaussée du Pays-de-Retz, in the town centre. It takes place all year round on Fridays, from 8 am to 12.30 pm. From 15 June to 15 September, it is also held on Tuesdays, from 8 am to 1 pm. There are many stalls of fish and shellfish, meat, and fruit and vegetables. In summer, the hall also hosts a craft market on Wednesdays from 6 pm, and the village centre a night market on Fridays from 8 pm. After the market, you can visit Pornic, about 13 minutes by car (9.9 km), and the Noëveillard lighthouse in Pornic, about 14 minutes by car (9.1 km). By the sea, La Fontaine aux Bretons beach, in Pornic, is about 9 minutes by car (5.2 km).
