About
In Pornic, L’Orangerie brings together seasonal produce and culinary curiosity. The restaurant does not seek sophistication for its own sake: it invites you to look differently at a carrot, a fish of the moment or a citrus fruit, working on textures and complementary flavours. On rue de la Prépoise, it suits diners who like to be guided while enjoying clear, indulgent cooking. Julien Lainé trained with chefs such as Alain Dutournier, Jean-Michel Lorrain and Alain Ducasse. In Pornic, he uses local suppliers and French produce wherever possible. The menu may bring together hake, oysters, bouchot mussels, seasonal vegetables and touches of more distant flavours. Past dishes have paired hake, haddock and spinach, or glazed carrot and pickles. Two ways to discover the house coexist depending on the service: a Découverte menu and Carte Blanche menus in several courses left to the kitchen’s inspiration, with drink pairings depending on the menu. In the evening, the atmosphere becomes more intimate. Booking and mentioning allergies in advance are essential for the Carte Blanche menus. The visit continues naturally with the old harbour or the coastal walks of Pornic. A terrace is open in fine weather.
