About
Every Saturday morning, all year round, a market is held on Place Polig-Monjarret, in the centre of Lorient. It used to be called the “marché Saint-Louis”. It mainly has sellers of discount clothing, household linen, shoes and leather goods, with a few fresh produce traders, including a vegetable grower. After a browse, the café terraces on the square invite you to have a drink. The same morning, the open-air market at the Merville covered market and the Cours de Chazelles food market are open. After the market, you can visit the Pointe du Talud in Ploemeur, about 19 minutes by car (12 km), and the Kerbel lighthouse in Riantec, about 20 minutes by car (15 km). By the sea, Port-Maria beach, in Larmor-Plage, is about 11 minutes by car (6.9 km), and Toulhars beach about 11 minutes by car (6.9 km).
