About
Between heritage and nature, this Servon-sur-Vilaine trail is approved by the Fédération française de randonnée. You discover the Château du Gué, which takes its name from an old ford over the Vilaine, and the old Saint-Mathurin oratory near the level crossing keeper’s house. The path heads down to the Vilaine and crosses the small Pas-Davy bridges: the nature area keeps the ruins of an old mill, meadows and sheep. The way back follows sunken lanes and passes through the village centre. The loop is 8.7 km long; allow about 2 h 10 of walking. Start: Place Herminie-Prod’homme, in Servon-sur-Vilaine. The official route, published by Pays de Châteaugiron Communauté, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
