About
Starting from the castle, this loop takes in the heritage of Clisson, between the upper town and the rivers. The route passes the Temple of Friendship and the Henri IV column, the Musée Cacault and the Templars’ chapel, then follows the river past the Plessard mill, the former Feuillée factory and the Arsenal footbridge. It then crosses the Garenne Lemot park, between the Gardener’s House and the villa, follows the Sèvre and then the Moine, passes under the viaduct and reaches the Pavillon des Rochers, before returning via Place du Minage and Rue des Halles. The loop is 5 km long; allow about 1 h 15 of walking. The stated level is easy. Start: the car park near the castle, in the centre of Clisson. The waymarking is yellow, and yellow and red on the section shared with a GR de Pays. The official route, published by the Loire-Atlantique département, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
