About
This trail gives pride of place to the wild, steep coastal path: another side of seaside Saint-Nazaire. Under the gaze of M. Hulot, you discover in turn the beaches of Les Jaunais, M. Hulot, La Courance, Porcé and Bonne-Anse, the Chémoulin and Ève points, and the Trébézy and Virechat slipways. The route comes back inland, between the protected natural area of the Cavaro heath and the historic site of the Torpille camp. Along the way, the fishing huts, built on stilts at the end of the 19th and start of the 20th century, come alive when their owners raise the square nets. The loop is 12.7 km long; allow about 4 h 15 of walking. The stated level is medium. Start: the point marked on the map, in Saint-Nazaire. The waymarking is yellow. The official route, published by the Loire-Atlantique département, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
