About

The Crozon peninsula has nearly 446 sea caves, the largest concentration in France. Those at Morgat, formed in faults in the sandstone some 475 million years ago, were praised by 19th-century travellers, including Gustave Flaubert. They can only be visited from the sea. The Vedettes Sirènes, at Morgat harbour, offer a 50-minute tour of the caves with sailor guides, and other trips to the Île Vierge, Cap de la Chèvre, the Pointe de Pen-Hir or the Pointe des Espagnols. On your own, several rental companies offer kayaks, paddleboards or boats, such as the Crozon-Morgat sailing centre. In fine weather, the light reflecting in the caves turns the water a crystal-clear blue.
