About

The La Bourbansais estate in Pleugueneuc, halfway between Rennes and Saint-Malo, combines a château and gardens listed as historic monuments with a wildlife park. More than 60 species live there in semi-freedom: Colombian spider monkeys, tamarins, Siberian tigers, hyacinth macaws, giant anteaters and Ethiopian geladas. The park takes part in European breeding programmes, and three maned wolf pups, a threatened South American species, were born there. The estate also offers experiences: keeper for a day (from age 8, with an adult) or falconer for a day (from age 12), as well as events around the garden and cooking.
