About
L’Escale Saint-Gilles covers nine hectares on the Bénodet corniche, with direct access to the Pointe Saint-Gilles beach. Rated 5 stars and run by Sandaya, the campsite is aimed at families who want the sea at the end of the path and all the comfort of a large holiday village. The 1,000 m² water park includes a heated indoor pool, a tropical river, slides and a water play area for little ones. Adults have their spa, with a balneotherapy pool, sauna and hammam. Kids’, juniors’ and teens’ clubs are free, and theme evenings set the pace in summer. The campsite holds the Clef Verte eco-label: composting on site, solar panels for hot water in the toilet blocks, a pool heated by heat recovery and local produce in the grocery. It is accessible to people with reduced mobility. The centre of Bénodet, its harbour and the mouth of the Odet are a few minutes away. The campsite has 395 rentals. For days without the beach, a boat trip up the Odet takes you to Quimper, a town of art and history and capital of Cornouaille. Nearby: the Bigouden museum in Pont-l’Abbé, about 20 minutes by car (14 km), and the Pointe de Beg-Meil in Fouesnant, about 21 minutes by car (14 km).
