About
Fort La Latte, formerly the castle of La Roche Goyon, was built in the Middle Ages by the Goyon-Matignon family. Its position facing the Channel made it a strategic point on the Breton coast. The castle keeps its keep, drawbridge, curtain walls and defensive buildings. In the early modern period, the site was adapted for artillery and became part of the coastal defence system. The visit combines climbing the keep, the courtyard, the chapel, the batteries and the wall walks. The views over Cap Fréhel, the sea and the coast are as important as the monument itself. Fort La Latte has seasonal opening hours that vary greatly between summer and winter. 2026 prices are €8.50 for adults and €7.50 for several reduced categories.
