About
Right on the Bénodet marina, the Grand Hôtel Abbatiale has been part of the resort’s tourism history since 1880. Its location at the mouth of the Odet lets you enjoy the river, the harbour, the beaches and the coastal path. Now a member of The Originals Relais, the hotel has 51 rooms. Thirty-seven have a panoramic or side view of the Odet, the harbour and Sainte-Marine on the opposite bank. The choice of rooms goes well beyond sea view versus garden view. There is a Single overlooking the harbour, Classic Garden View rooms, Classic Side River View rooms, Cosy River View rooms under the eaves on the fifth floor, Superior River View rooms, triple rooms and real quadruple rooms made of two connecting rooms. Three Classic rooms are in a small Breton cottage next to the main building, with their own entrance on the car park side. The hotel also has three ground-floor rooms adapted for people with reduced mobility, with walk-in showers. All rooms have a flat-screen TV, a hairdryer, a phone and a bathroom with shower or bath. Double rooms have twin beds of 90 x 200 cm that can be pushed together to make a 180 x 200 cm bed. Breakfast costs €15 per person in the breakfast room, from 7 am to 11 am. Room service is available from 8 am to 12 noon for €17. The La Voile d’Or bar has long opening hours and recalls Bénodet’s sailing history, with a replica of the famous Pen Duick in tribute to Éric Tabarly and the resort’s maritime past. The Grand Hôtel has no large pool in its main building. However, from May to September, guests have free access to the heated outdoor pool of the partner hotel Les Bains de Mer, a few minutes’ walk away. The Relais Thalasso de Bénodet is about fifteen minutes’ walk along the coast. The hotel is not a thalassotherapy centre, but it offers very easy access to one. The private car park is free. Two spaces with slow electric vehicle charging points are available behind the hotel, for €10 per day. Pets are accepted under conditions, but not in the breakfast room. Luggage storage, a Business Corner, baby equipment, board games, a concierge service, bike hire and a lift complete the services. One of its greatest assets is its location. Boats to the Glénan islands and cruises on the Odet leave right opposite, and the GR34 lets you start a walk without taking the car.
