About
The Grand Hôtel des Thermes is one of Saint-Malo’s great hotel institutions. Set right on the Grande Plage du Sillon since the late 19th century, the Belle Époque building combines 5-star accommodation, thalassotherapy, dining, sport and family services in a single complex. The current official website lists 177 rooms and suites, in clearly defined categories. The Régate is about 16 m² and sleeps one. The Transat offers 24 m² for one or two. The Escale has 30 m² and sleeps up to three. The Croisière offers 32 to 40 m² facing the sea, while the Suites reach 60 to 66 m² and sleep up to five. The thalassotherapy centre is directly linked to the hotel. The relaxation pool uses seawater heated to about 30 °C and offers a real swimming pool in a bright setting. The Aquatonic course is a separate experience. Its pool uses seawater heated to 31 to 34 °C and has fourteen stations with 194 underwater jets, currents, bubble baths and massage areas. Hotel guests get a preferential rate when it is not included in their package; booking a slot is recommended, as numbers are controlled. The relaxation area also includes a sauna, a hammam, a sea mist room, cardio training and EGYM equipment depending on the area and programme. Spa and thalassotherapy treatments are booked separately. There are three restaurants. Le Cap Horn offers refined cuisine with a sea view. La Verrière combines traditional cooking and a wellness menu. La Terrasse opens in fine weather right on the Sillon. La Passerelle bar completes the offer with a panoramic view over the bay. The hotel is particularly well equipped for families. Its Kids’ Club welcomes babies from two months and children up to six almost all week. During some school holidays, the Petits Corsaires club extends the offer to children aged 6 to 12. The 2026 Kids’ Club prices are clearly published, for a few hours, half a day or several days, and babysitting can be booked outside club hours. A shuttle from Saint-Malo TGV station on request, paid covered parking, bike hire, baby equipment, room service and wheelchair access complete the services. The Grand Hôtel des Thermes received the Clef Verte eco-label in 2026 for the second year running, and says it has taken several hundred actions since 2019 to reduce its environmental impact.
