About
The Hôtel Le Beaufort is at 25 chaussée du Sillon in Saint-Malo, right on the pedestrian sea wall of the great beach. Its façade faces the bay and the hotel has direct access to the sand, so your stay follows the tides and the spectacular changes of the Saint-Malo coast. The building dates from 1880. The hotel has a long family history and combines the charm of a historic house with a contemporary renovation inspired by Art Deco. Rated 3 stars, it has 22 rooms on three floors, 14 with a sea view; some have a private terrace facing the bay. Sea-side rooms are named after places around Saint-Malo and the Channel Islands: Petit Bé (about 15 m²), Grand Bé (about 17 m² double, 19 m² triple), Terrasse La Conchée (about 14 m²), and the Terrasse Chausey, Cézembre and Les Minquiers rooms with a private outdoor space; Les Minquiers is particularly spacious, with a furnished terrace and direct access to the sand. On the street side, the seven Harbour rooms have Art Deco decor (about 17 m² double, 20 m² triple). The Du Guesclin room, about 26 m², sleeps up to four. Breakfast is served in a room with a bow window and a panoramic view of the Channel: homemade brioche, gingerbread, far breton, pastries and jams, Cancale honey, organic yoghurts from Saint-Suliac, eggs, cold meats, cheese and smoked salmon, at €18 for adults and €9 for children; room service is possible on request the day before for €2 extra. The restaurant and tea room, open to all, faces the sea and serves homemade dishes and pastries continuously from noon until about 9 pm. A bar with a sea view completes the offer. Reception is open from 8 am to 10 pm. Closed garages about 300 metres away, with electric charging points, are available on booking at €15 a night. Small dogs are accepted on request for €15 a night per animal; other pets are not. The hotel has a lift, but the official website states that it is not accessible to people with reduced mobility, as it has been granted an exemption from accessibility works. It is entirely non-smoking. Intra-Muros is an easy walk along the sea wall, and the Thermes Marins, the station and the beaches of the Sillon and Rochebonne are close by.
