About

Facing the ocean and the little harbour of La Gravette, Anne de Bretagne is one of the most discreet and gastronomic addresses on the Côte de Jade. Located in La Plaine-sur-Mer, between Pornic and the Pointe Saint-Gildas, the house looks straight out over the Atlantic in particularly peaceful surroundings. The hotel was extensively renovated before reopening in summer 2026. The number of rooms was deliberately reduced to make the address more intimate. The hotel now has only fifteen rooms and suites, compared with nineteen before, with an atmosphere closer to a large guest house than a conventional hotel. Rated 4 stars, a member of Relais & Châteaux and awarded one Michelin Key, the house favours generous volumes, understated materials and openings onto the landscape. Many of the rooms and suites look directly out to sea, while the park-side rooms enjoy the wooded garden and the pool. The heated outdoor pool is one of the great assets of a summer stay. Set in the heart of the garden, it is open to guests from 8 am to 8 pm during its season. Sun loungers and bath towels are provided around the pool. Breakfast is also an important part of the experience. Served from 7.30 am to 10.30 am, in your room or on the garden level facing the pool, it highlights regional produce and the creations of the house pastry chef, including pastries, brioches and Breton specialities. Anne de Bretagne is also a gastronomic destination in its own right. Mathieu Guibert’s restaurant keeps two Michelin stars in 2026. The chef, a native of the Pays de Retz, builds his cooking around local fishing, shellfish, crustaceans and produce from growers with whom the house has close ties. The stay can also extend beyond the hotel, thanks to bikes lent free of charge and electric bikes available by reservation. The coastline, the beaches, the harbour of La Gravette, Préfailles and Pornic are all easy to reach from the house.
