About
Castel Clara overlooks the Goulphar cove on the wild coast of Belle-Île-en-Mer. In the municipality of Bangor, the hotel faces the ocean in a particularly unspoilt setting of cliffs, heathland and coastal paths. Rated 4 stars, the hotel now has 66 rooms and suites, about 80% of them with an ocean view. Rooms are spread across sea, garden or courtyard categories. Ocean View Rooms are about 26 to 32 m² and Superior Ocean View Rooms about 30 to 38 m². Many have a terrace or balcony. The 1,200 m² thalassotherapy centre is the heart of the experience. It uses seawater and has a heated indoor pool with counter-current swimming, underwater jets and a neck waterfall. The institute also has hydromassage bath cabins, seaweed wraps, jet showers, rain massages and other marine treatments. A hammam, sauna, relaxation room and herbal tea corner complete the circuit. A heated outdoor seawater pool is open in season. Tennis, fitness and bike hire fill the days beyond the treatments. Castel Clara has several dining areas. Le 180° restaurant serves cooking focused on the sea and Belle-Île produce, in a room with a remarkable panorama. For a stay of several nights, it combines thalasso, hiking on the GR340 and discovering Bangor, Port Coton, Sauzon, Le Palais and the island’s beaches.
