About
In the heart of La Roche-Bernard, the Auberge Bretonne occupies a characterful building a few steps from the old lanes, the harbour and the banks of the Vilaine. With just ten rooms, it deliberately keeps an intimate, family feel, very different from large chain hotels. The oldest part of the building dates from the early 20th century, with a second part added in the 1990s. Now rated 3 stars, the inn offers four room categories from 20 to 40 m². The rooms are designed mainly for one or two people, and a cot can be added in every category. The Standard room measures 20 m² and can have a 140 or 180 cm bed. One room in this category is specially adapted for guests with reduced mobility and reached by lift. Superior rooms measure 26 m², Junior rooms 35 m² and Privilege rooms up to 40 m². The other great asset is the gastronomic restaurant. Chef Benoît Gauchet has worked with Jacques Thorel, Olivier Roellinger and Jean-François Piège. His cooking showcases fish, seafood, seasonal vegetables and the local producers he meets at the markets of La Roche-Bernard and Vannes.
