About
The Auberge des Deux Magots occupies a 17th-century town house in the historic quarter of La Roche-Bernard. The old stones, the façade and its position give the restaurant a charm that no recent building can reproduce. The name is linked to the story of two monkeys brought back by a former owner, an explorer. Two sculptures at the top of the façade keep the story alive: take a moment to spot them before sitting down. Chef Ludovic Le Forestier offers personal cooking that gives pride of place to the terroir and to indulgence. His career includes the Domaine de la Bretesche, where he won a star in 2013. Pastry chef Anne Brochard looks after the final courses, and sommelier Johnny Couacault suggests wines suited to each sauce and dish. The official website lists lunch menus at €26 or €32, then menus at €42, €55 and €65 in the evening and at weekends, several including amuse-bouches, pastries and petits fours. A private room seats up to twenty-five people for birthdays, family meals or business receptions.
