About
The Pont-Aven market is held all year round on Tuesday mornings. It sets up on Quai Botrel, beside the Aven, in summer, and on Place Julia in winter. Pont-Aven is the town of painters: Paul Gauguin and his friends of the Pont-Aven school painted here at the end of the 19th century. Mills, galleries and biscuit makers line the river. The market is part of the Tuesday ritual, before a walk by the water or in the Bois d’Amour. After the market, you can visit the Château de Kériolet in Concarneau, about 21 minutes by car (20 km), and the Musée de la Pêche in Concarneau, about 22 minutes by car (15 km).
