About
The Douarnenez covered market is in the town centre, between Place des Halles and Rue Anatole-France. From Monday to Saturday, fresh produce is sold there in the morning. Fishmongers and butchers run their stalls, in a town that has always lived from fishing: Douarnenez was one of Brittany’s great sardine ports. In Tréboul, on the other side of the harbour, fresh produce is also sold in the morning at the marina, with a big market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. After the market, you can visit Locronan, about 19 minutes by car (11 km), and Pont-Croix, about 21 minutes by car (16 km).
