About
The big Malestroit market takes place every Thursday, all year round, from 7 am to 1 pm, on Place Queinnec and Place du Bouffay, in the heart of the town. It brings together about 110 traders in high season and 80 in low season: food, clothes, crafts, equipment, flowers. On Saturdays, from 7 am to 1 pm, a second market of around fifteen traders sets up on Rue Edmond-Besson, opposite the town hall: fruit and vegetables, butcher, fishmonger, cheese. The town chooses its traders by a house rule, “CQFD”: choice, quality, freshness and diversity. Malestroit is one of Brittany’s Petites Cités de Caractère. After the market, you can visit Rochefort-en-Terre, about 18 minutes by car (16 km), and La Gacilly, about 21 minutes by car (20 km).
