About
Every Thursday morning, all year round, the big Sarzeau market sets up on Place des Trinitaires, in the centre of the town. It is the big event of the week on the Rhuys peninsula. A food and street traders’ market, it brings together fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, oysters, mussels and shellfish, cheese and dairy products. Caterers offer Asian food or crêpes and galettes. You can also browse stalls of jewellery, crafts, clothes and everyday items. In July and August, a craft market with a concert takes over on Thursdays from 5 pm to 9 pm. After the market, you can visit the Château de Suscinio in Sarzeau, about 9 minutes by car (4.9 km), and Port-Navalo in Arzon, about 14 minutes by car (13 km). By the sea, Goh Velin beach, in Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys, is about 11 minutes by car (8.4 km), and Suscinio beach about 12 minutes by car (4.9 km).
