About
Le Kérou is inseparable from the history of surfing in Clohars-Carnoët. The first surfers appeared here at the end of the 1970s, and the spot has since taken a major place in local culture. Its gentle slope lets swells from offshore break over a long distance, with waves that can become tubular. The town mentions several hundred regular surfers and large summer crowds. A surf school offers lessons for beginners and improvers. The beach is lifeguarded every summer, from 1 July to 31 August, in the afternoon; check the exact times each season. Le Kérou has a first-aid post, toilets, a shower, drinking water, a bar, a restaurant and a car park. It holds the Blue Flag. Dogs and horses are banned from 1 May to 30 September.
