About

Le Prieuré beach lies at the back of the bay of the same name, in front of the Port-Breton park. It is the first big beach you reach in Dinard coming from the Rance barrage. Set at the back of the bay, it is well sheltered from the wind, and its very gentle slope makes it particularly family-friendly. At high tide, you swim straight in the sea. At low tide, the sea goes out too far for normal swimming, but an outdoor seawater pool, filled by the tides, lets you keep swimming. The beach is lifeguarded in July and August. The 2026 accessibility guide confirms disabled parking, a shower, adapted toilets, a Tiralo, a Hippocampe, a first aid post and an adapted changing tent. The western access has a ramp. The beach also opens onto the coastal path, the Promenade du Clair de Lune and free outdoor fitness equipment. Animals are only allowed from 16 September to 14 June.

What you will see

  • A large beach of fine sand at the back of a very sheltered bay.
  • Free outdoor equipment on the esplanade.
  • The seawater pool, with Saint-Malo in the background.

Show 12 more tips
  • Check the water quality in season, and do not swim if there is a ban.
  • Arrive early in July and August; June and September are quieter.
  • Use sun cream even when the sky is hazy, and keep a windproof layer.
