About

From the harbour at Argol, the coastal path goes all the way around Hœdic, a small island off Quiberon. Near Port-Neuf, Mesolithic graves uncovered by Saint-Just and Marthe Péquart form, together with Téviec, one of the most important burial sites of that period in Europe. The Pointe du Vieux-Château, an Iron Age fortified spur, has a row of menhirs. The 1853 fort houses a gîte and an exhibition about the island. Further on come the Vierge menhir and the Croix dolmen, both listed historic monuments, the Beg Lagad point and its Vauban fort, then the village of low longhouses, the church rebuilt in 1853 and the old semaphore from 1861. The loop is 8.3 km long; allow about 2 hours of walking. The stated level is easy. Start: the Argol harbour, behind the Hœdic ferry terminal. The official route, published by Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
