About

In its first part, this Quiberon trail faces the bay, presented as one of the “most beautiful bays in the world”. The end of the loop winds through the town along its small streets. From Port-Haliguen, the coastal path reaches the Pointe du Conguel, where the bay meets the ocean: the viewpoint indicator shows the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan and, offshore, the Teignouse lighthouse, where the battleship France sank in 1922. You then pass near the 6 m high Goulvars menhir and the Conguel dolmen, then reach Saint-Julien along the coastal path. The way back follows Porigo beach and Fort-Neuf, a battery built in 1675 at the request of Louis XIV. The loop is 11.6 km long; allow about 2 h 45 of walking. The stated level is easy. Start: Port-Haliguen, in Quiberon. The waymarking is yellow. The official route, published by Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
