About
Le Bois d’Amour stands at the entrance to L’Île-Tudy, a former fishing village in the Pays Bigouden, between the Pont-l’Abbé river and the long white sandy beach. Just cross the road to reach the Grande Plage de l’Île-Tudy, lined by a dune and a greenway. Created in 1969 on family land, the campsite focuses on calm: it rents 27 mobile homes and hosts 19 residents’ mobile homes, with no pitches for tents, caravans or motorhomes. Some look out over a Natura 2000 area. The Le Supavam grocery, run by Aurélie, is open all year: local produce, fresh bread every day, pastries and roast chicken on Sundays. The campsite rents city bikes, mountain bikes and hybrids, with child seats, and has washing machines. Until 1852, L’Île-Tudy was an island; the Kermor dyke linked it to the mainland. The Treustel and Kermor beaches add 4 kilometres of sand, and Quimper is about twenty minutes away. By the sea, Le Trez beach, in Bénodet, is about 15 minutes by car (11 km). Nearby, you can visit the Eckmühl lighthouse in Penmarc’h, about 29 minutes by car (24 km), and the Pointe de Beg-Meil in Fouesnant, about 30 minutes by car (23 km).
