About
The Château de Trécesson, in Campénéac, dates mainly from the 15th and 16th centuries. Its setting among water and heathland, close to Brocéliande, has done much for its fame. Built of dark, reddish schist, it is arranged around a courtyard reached by a bridge over the moats. Towers, gatehouse and living quarters form a remarkably consistent silhouette. Trécesson is still a lived-in private property and cannot be visited freely. The experience is above all to admire it from the authorised viewpoints outside, without crossing the estate’s boundaries. There are no regular visits inside: think of it as a private property seen from outside, except for exceptional events officially announced.
