About

Paimpont is the most natural gateway to Brocéliande. The village is built around its abbey and its lake, among houses of schist and Armorican sandstone. The tourist office and the immersive trail “Brocéliande, la Porte des Secrets” are housed in the abbey’s former outbuildings. The trail lasts about 55 minutes and combines set design, light, sound and storytelling to prepare you for the forest. In 2026, tickets cost €9 full price, €7 reduced and €5.50 for children aged 5 to 11. The trail is accessible to people with reduced mobility but does not accept animals. Paimpont is also the starting point for many storytelling walks and hikes. New in 2026, “Lancelot au fil de l’eau” is a 4 km costumed walk around the lake lasting about 2 h 30. A guided tour of the abbey is also offered, to understand the village’s real history before stepping into the world of legends.
