It is the first big announcement for 2027: Muse will play the Vieilles Charrues on Thursday 15 July 2027, opening the 35th edition of the festival in Carhaix-Plouguer. The festival made it official on 6 October 2026, and tickets for this first night went on sale on Monday 12 October.

A story that has lasted since 2000

Muse and Carhaix share a long loyalty. The Kerampuilh crowd discovered the British band in 2000, when they had only released their first album. Muse came back in 2004, 2010 and 2015. The 2027 concert will therefore be their fifth appearance at the Charrues, more than twenty five years after the first.

Each of these appearances left a special memory in the festival’s history. The 2010 one remains the most famous: a real deluge fell on Kerampuilh, and tens of thousands of festivalgoers stayed in the rain until the end, for a legendary concert. The festival recalls it in its own announcement: a love story that not even this deluge could ever put out.

The announcement carried the hashtag #solarpunk, a vision turned towards a greener, sunnier future. It fits the model the festival stands for: 100% run by a non profit association, committed to some of the most affordable prices for an event of this size.

Carhaix is in the centre of Brittany, at an equal distance from Brest, Quimper, Saint-Brieuc and Lorient, about an hour’s drive from each. During the festival, the small town welcomes tens of thousands of people a day: book your accommodation very early, and choose the shuttles, car sharing or the festival campsite rather than driving on your own.

Enjoying the area around the festival

The festival days start in the afternoon, so the mornings leave time to discover central Brittany, often overlooked on seaside holidays. About twenty minutes away, the Vallée des Saints lines up its giant statues on a hill in Carnoët; a little further, the Huelgoat forest and its granite boulders offer shade and cool air after a night of concerts.
