Every Saturday, from 9 am to 1 pm, a market sets up opposite the Château d’Ancenis, in the car park on Rue du Pont. At the foot of the ramparts, a dozen traders offer a variety of products: oysters, fish, vegetables, bread, meat, roast chickens. It is one of the town’s three weekly markets, along with the big Thursday morning market and the Tuesday evening producers’ market. After the market, you can visit Oudon, about 12 minutes by car (9.5 km).

- After the market, walk along the castle ramparts.
- Another day: about 200 m away, the main Ancenis market is held on Thursdays from 8 am to 1 pm; about 12 minutes by car, the Oudon market is held on Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm.
- For a walk afterwards: “Balade en Campagne Autour du Moulin de la Challoire À St Herblon”, a 7.8 km easy loop, starts from Vair-sur-Loire., about 15 minutes by car (11 km).
