About
Every Sunday morning, all year round, from 8.30 am to 1 pm, Bangor hosts its weekly market on Place Claude-Monet, in the heart of the village. There are fish and shellfish from local fishing, an island market gardener, an artisan cheese dairy, a rotisserie, a caterer, flowers and plants from a local nursery, and a crêpe van. In season, local art and crafts join the stalls, along with second-hand books. Bangor is the town on the Côte Sauvage of Belle-Île, the largest of the Breton islands. After the market, you can visit the Grand Phare de Goulphar in Bangor, about 7 minutes by car (3.4 km), and the Port Coton needles in Bangor, about 7 minutes by car (3.7 km). By the sea, Ramonette beach, in Le Palais, is about 10 minutes by car (5.4 km), and Herlin beach about 10 minutes by car (5.6 km).
