About
On the first and third Wednesday of the month, from 8.30 am to 1 pm, the Le Faouët market is held in and around the covered market, with many travelling traders. The covered market dates from the 16th century, probably 1542, and is a listed historic monument. Its fir and oak timber frame carries a slate roof, supported by short granite columns. An octagonal bell turret crowns it. A big market was already held here every Wednesday, along with nine fairs a year, then fourteen from the 17th century. Around it, Place Bellanger keeps some fine old houses. After the market, you can visit the Musée du Faouët in Le Faouët, about 300 m away, and Pont-Scorff, about 30 minutes by car (28 km).
