About
Caroual is Erquy’s big family beach. It stretches for just over two kilometres of fine sand and almost joins Saint-Pabu at low tide, creating a very long walk along the shore. Swimming is lifeguarded in July and August, and the beach has a first-aid post, showers, toilets and a drinking water point. Caroual is also a very sporty beach, with volleyball, sand yachting, windsurfing and kitesurfing in the regulated zones. Three Tiralos are available at the first-aid post during its opening hours. In 2026, official monitoring confirmed a lifeguarded, equipped, wheelchair-accessible site closed to animals. Most of the 2026 water samples were rated good, with one average result on 16 June. Animals are banned from the beach from 15 May to 15 September.
